High Point wildlife control tip of the month:

How to keep squirrels out of your house

A lot of people grow up in areas where squirrels are everywhere. They run around on trees, power lines, sidewalks, lawns, and everywhere else that you and High Point animal control can see. They simply are everywhere.

Sometimes those squirrels may find your attic, shed, basement, or garage to be an inviting place to make a home. You may not want them there. You may despise that they are there, but this is where they will go if they can find a way in. This means that you must take steps to foil their attempts to get in. Here are some tips.

To begin, High Point pest control must determine if there are any areas in your home where a squirrel is simply able to figure out how to enter your home. You need to look for cracks in your siding, holes, loose boards, and the like to see if there is any place where a squirrel can easily gain access. Keep in mind that these are very small animals. It does not take much for them to maneuver their way into your home. Once in they can be a lot of work to keep out.

If you do find that there are areas where they can gain access, then what High Point wildlife removal needs to do is to seal all these places and make sure that the squirrel is not able to get back in. One of the best things you can do is if you find a hole or area where you need to caulk or seal, put some steel mesh in the sealant. This will make it hard and irritating for the squirrels teeth, and it will likely leave this area alone.

You can look into putting commercial repellants around your home that are irritates to squirrels. Keep in mind that these are only as effective as the other measures you take. If you have some repellant up, but there is a board that is loose enough for the squirrel to gain access, then your repellant is simply not going to work. You have to protect the house, and then add the commercial repellant.

Some have opted for the extreme option of putting predator urine around the outside of their home to scare off the squirrels. This can be very effective for High Point exterminators, no one will deny that, but it can also be effective in keeping your friends and family away. Wolf or coyote urine is an incredibly potent smell and your mom or neighbor may find it a bit too much to endure.
